I Brought My Crayons: Utilizing Art Techniques in Adlerian Play Therapy

This workshop is designed to provide students an overview of Adlerian Play Therapy concepts, as well as art techniques and interventions to utilize with clients in each phase of treatment. 

During this experiential class, you will learn art techniques and interventions to explore the phases and lifestyle concepts of Adlerian play therapy. This fun, engaging, interactive workshop will provide you with practical strategies you can use immediately with your clients. These techniques will be low-cost and will assist you in gaining insight into your client’s patterns of beliefs, feelings, and behavior. 

Please have paper and a variety of art materials on hand during the class. Join us for an exciting day of creativity, fun, and play. Don’t forget your crayons!

Learning Objectives: 

Participants will:

    1. list and describe 3 art techniques to explore phase one in Adlerian play therapy.
    2. list and describe 3 art techniques to explore phase two in Adlerian play therapy.
    3. list and describe 3 art techniques to explore phase three in Adlerian play therapy.
    4. list and describe 3 art techniques to explore phase four in Adlerian play therapy.

    About our presenter:  Kim Feeney, MSW, LISW, RPT-S has been a Licensed Independent Social Worker since 2013 and a Registered Play Therapy Supervisor since 2014. She attended the University of Iowa and earned an undergraduate degree in psychology and Social Work in 2001. Kim obtained her graduate degree in Social Work at The University of Iowa in 2011. She has training in Adlerian play therapy, Theraplay, Sandtray, and Child Centered.

    For many years Kim worked with children in their home settings, providing direct care while also mentoring parents. In addition, she provided services to teens in residential treatment settings. Kim has worked in a therapeutic capacity in schools and office settings. She currently owns a private practice in Davenport, IA.

    LIVE WEBINAR: Per APT guidelines, video cameras must be on throughout the presentation for contact CE. Participants will be awarded APT LIVE WEBINAR CE upon successful completion of a post test. This workshop meets APT's definition of "Live Webinar."

    AZAPT is approved by the Association for Play Therapy to offer continuing education specific to Play Therapy. APT Approved Provider 97-035. AZAPT maintains responsibility for the program. Registrants understand and agree that any photograph, video or audio recording of themselves may be used to further promote AZAPT.

    Cancellation Policy: All cancellations must be requested in writing and received no later than June1, 2023. Cancellations are subject to a $20 processing fee. Substitutions (someone else attending) or transfer of registration to another training date may be requested. No refunds after June 1, 2023.
